Waxing
Waxing has been one of Dante’s most popular treatments since we first opened our doors in 2008.
Whether you’re looking for a quick eyebrow tidy, silky smooth legs or a full body wax, our experienced therapists are here to make your treatment as comfortable and effective as possible.
At Dante, we proudly use Depiléve, one of the world’s most respected professional waxing brands. Developed in Spain over 50 years ago, Depiléve is trusted by beauty professionals in more than 100 countries and is renowned for its premium waxes, superior performance and skin-friendly formulations. Their innovative products are designed to remove hair effectively while helping to minimise discomfort and protect the skin, making them the perfect choice for our clients.
We offer a full range of facial and body waxing treatments, including intimate waxing for women. Please note that we do not currently offer male intimate waxing.
Bikini Waxing Options
Choosing the right bikini wax can sometimes feel confusing, so here’s a simple guide:
Bikini Wax
Removes hair from outside the standard bikini line, leaving everything neatly tucked inside your swimwear.
G-String Wax
Removes a little more hair than a standard bikini wax, creating a narrower shape.
Brazilian Wax
Leaves a small strip or triangle of hair at the front while removing the remaining hair.
Hollywood Wax
Removes all hair from the front, underneath and back, leaving the area completely smooth.
If you’re unsure which option is best for you, your therapist will happily explain the differences before your treatment.
Before Your Appointment
Your skin’s health is just as important as the treatment itself.
Please let your therapist know if you have recently:
- Experienced sunburn or excessive sun exposure.
- Started or changed any medication. Used active skincare ingredients such as Retinol, Vitamin A, prescription acne treatments or chemical exfoliants.
- Had a chemical peel or other advanced skin treatment.
These can all increase skin sensitivity, and in some cases we may recommend postponing your appointment to ensure your skin remains healthy and protected.
Why Regular Waxing Matters
Hair grows in three natural stages: the active growing stage (Anagen), the transition stage (Catagen) and the resting stage (Telogen). Because every hair is growing at a different rate, you’ll never remove every hair at exactly the same stage during one appointment.
Regular waxing helps to gradually synchronise your hair growth cycle, resulting in smoother skin, finer regrowth and longer-lasting results. Frequently switching between shaving and waxing interrupts this process, as shaving simply cuts the hair at the skin’s surface rather than removing it from the root. Staying consistent with your waxing appointments will help you achieve the best possible results over time.
Waxing FAQ
Unfortunately, no.
Sunburn causes inflammation and leaves the skin much more delicate than usual. Because wax adheres to both the hair and the outer layer of skin, waxing over sunburnt skin can remove damaged skin cells prematurely, potentially leaving the healthy skin underneath exposed and increasing discomfort.
We recommend allowing your skin to heal completely before booking your waxing appointment. And of course, don’t forget your daily SPF—your future skin will thank you!
Ingrown hairs are quite common and don’t necessarily mean there’s anything wrong with your waxing treatment.
The most important thing is not to pick at them, as this can lead to pigmentation, scarring and infection.
Regular, gentle exfoliation helps encourage trapped hairs to grow through the skin naturally. One of our favourite home-care recommendations is combining Environ Derma-Lac Lotion with Environ Vitamin A, C & E Body Oil. Both Jade and Terri have personally used this combination for years because it helps improve the skin’s texture while reducing and preventing ingrown hairs.
If ingrown hairs continue to be a concern, your therapist may recommend switching to Sugaring, which many clients find helps reduce hair breakage and the likelihood of ingrown hairs.
This is probably one of the biggest beauty myths we hear!
The simple answer is no.
Waxing removes the hair from the root and does not change the colour, thickness or rate of hair growth. Those characteristics are determined by genetics and hormones.
In fact, many clients find the opposite happens. With regular waxing, the hair often grows back finer, softer and less noticeable over time, making facial waxing an excellent option for maintaining smooth skin.
